Kwita Izina, directly translated as “to name”, is a uniquely Rwandan event which was introduced in 2005 with the aim of creating awareness of conservation efforts for the endangered mountain gorilla. The event organized by Rwanda Development Board (RDB), is considered to be the biggest event on Rwanda’s tourism calendar. The event is always preceded by an exhibition which brings together tour companies, local traders, and other people within the sectors of tourism and conservation. For the second time in a row, AOS Ltd was a part of this exhibition.
On the 4th and 5th of September, AOS participated in the 2018 Kwita Izina Exhibition showcasing its Virtual Reality solution and content which was developed in collaboration with RDB. ‘Advancing conservation with technology’ was one of the main themes of the conference thus creating an opportunity for AOS to exhibit the content which included; gorilla trekking at Volcanoes National park, city of Kigali tour and Rwandan culture, a few of the country’s main tourist attractions.
AOS intends to further promote tourism in Rwanda by offering the service through VR booths in different places like airports, national parks, museums, etc… where people can catch a glimpse of what they are about to experience in real time. Also, for people to get directions and figure out what is where hence saving them time. In addition to that, we offer VR content creation for building tours,
We received a lot of positive feedback including a student from African Leadership University who exclaimed to a friend that he had brought along when he came back on day 2, “This is definitely the best stand!”
